2024 Calendar Challenge

This week and the next 3 after that, Spoonflower has challenged the designers to do non-pattern entries. This week is a 2024 calendar that will be sold on wall hangings and tea towels. Not having done a calendar before I spent some time thinking of subjects that might lend themselves well to a calendar. My entry is “Mother Hen”, brooding on pile of 12 eggs, one for each month of the year. I surrounded her with a hollyhock garden in a palette of intense blue and dark burgundy, which makes a good offset for the white hen and eggs. Only problem is, I don’t have a way to display (yet) illustrations on this website that are not repeat patterns! I’ll have to figure that out! For now, I’ll simply post here in the blog. If you like the design, public voting runs from Thurs Sept 28 – Tues Oct 3.
