47th Place for A Gothic Love Story

I went a different way from the crowd in this one. Most of the 1670 other entries took their inspiration from the great pattern designers of the past – such as William Morris. Some truly excellent and beautiful designs came from my fellow designers – huge competition!

In contrast, when I read the brief for this challenge, titled “Heritage Revival” – my thoughts went to Gothic architecture. I’d been wanting to do something using pointed arches for a while and this gave me the opportunity. I paired the architecture with the Adam and Eve story, but gave it my own witchy feminist slant. I called it “A Gothic Love Story“.

A very big thank you to all who clicked on my design and gave me a vote. My work was amongst some staggering work from some truly gifted artists, and achieving 47th place is a big win for me!

A collection of this design is currently available in multiple colorways in my Spoonflower shop.
