East Fork Fall Palette

This is the third East Fork Pottery sponsored design challenge at Spoonflower since I started entering the weekly competitions last March. I really love this palette – Molasses and Night Swim (dark brown and a dark wintery green) – particularly when paired with lighter colors from the East Fork glaze selections. I decided to draw a non directional design featuring a pair of quails and quail feathers – which are delightfully covered in little dots. My design paired with this palette and a weathered effect I applied, gave the end product a world/ethnic feel. One artist friend compared it to African wax prints – I love that! I did a full collection based on this concept – click here to view.
