Plaid has been following the rules for a few hundred years. This one decided it was done with that. Sweeping waves cut straight through the grid on a set of four water-resistant placemats, ready for weeknight takeout, holiday feasts, and the occasional spilled glass of wine. Add the matching table runner and napkin set for the full tablescape. A classic, just not a well-behaved one.
